Once the distance between incus and the footplate has been measured with the measuring device (ref. 02.14) the piston is hooked to the pin of the footplate, keeping the prostheses aligned as showed in the picture. Check the length on the measuring plate and cut the piston to the desired length. A scalpel or another tool able to cut can be used.

Ear prosthesis should be handled with care.
