The 2nd GOS Dissection Course

The GOS Board of Directors is pleased to announce the 2nd Practical Dissection Course on Human Cadavers, which will be held at the Human Lab of Palazzo Trecchi in Cremona, Italy, on October 28-30, 2024.

In keeping with the spirit of GOS, the three modules of theoretical introduction and practical dissection on human cadavers will be led by a faculty composed entirely of young specialists with proven experience in the area of interest.

The theoretical part, organized as a webinar, will consist of an in-depth study of surgical anatomy aimed at providing participants with the basic knowledge corresponding to the three different dissection modules scheduled:

  • Dissection of the cervicofacial district (salivary glands, neck lymph nodes, larynx, etc.)
  • Endoscopic dissection of the nasal-sinus district and anterior skull base
  • Microsurgical dissection of the middle/inner ear and lateral skull base

Each module will also include a master lecture given by expert colleagues with experience in the field of national relevance, with the aim of focusing attention on correct pre-operative planning, surgical indications, and management of intraoperative complications.

The dissection will be performed on fresh-frozen anatomical preparations (1 preparation for 2 participants) and will consist of the systematic repetition of pre-recorded dissection/surgical steps. Each workstation will be equipped with high-quality surgical instruments capable of faithfully simulating the open, endoscopic, and microscopic procedures performed in the operating room.

In addition, there will be a sufficient number of tutors to guarantee a tutoring ratio of at least 1:2 to provide participants with constant support during their experience, in a professional but informal atmosphere with the aim of maximizing the learning of the participants.

We look forward to seeing you there!
